How to add (and style!) an announcement bar to your Squarespace 7.1 website

The Squarespace Announcement bar is a thin bar above your website navigation that spans the full width of the page. Adding an announcement bar to your website is a great way to display announcements, draw attention to freebies, current promotions or any other important updates. How to add an announcement bar to your Squarespace 7.1 website:

1. Go to Marketing > Announcement Bar

2. Select Enable Announcement Bar from the drop-down menu

3. Enter the text you’d like to showcase in the announcement bar field

4. Add a clickthrough page URL. This will make the whole announcement bar a clickable link.

5. Save!

How to change the font:

1. Go to Design > Fonts

2. Go to Assign Styles

3. Click on Announcement Bar

4. Select designed font styles.

5. Click Save

How to change the the color:

1. Go to Design > Colors

2. Click on Section Themes

3. Click the pencil icon for the specific color theme of the announcement bar. The specific color theme will be showcased on the left side of your announcement bar in the Squarespace builder preview. See example below.

4. Scroll down to Announcement Bar, and adjust the background and text color

5. Click Save
