Your website and email list are two elements in your business where you have total control.

We love social media — it’s essential to building a community and connecting with your audience. But what would happen if Instagram went down tomorrow? How would you connect with your audience, book your services or sell your product?

In this blog post, we’re sharing how to use your website to incentivize potential clients to sign up for your mailing list. The best way to grow your email list is by providing VALUE!

Here are our top 5 ways to use your website to grow your mailing list!

1. Freebie

Create a value packed freebie that solves a problem your ideal client may have. Get in their good books by creating a resource that saves them time, energy and possibly money. This could be a checklist, cheatsheet, template, eBook, resource list, workbook, quiz, etc. Share your freebies via landing page, blog post, pop up or in a newsletter signup block.

2. Discount code

Discount codes are the number one reason why people sign up for email lists. Incentivize a potential client to sign up for your list by providing a discount off their first purchase via newsletter signup or website pop up.

3. Sign up to uncover service pricing

On your service page, add a newsletter block with an automatic redirect to a hidden page on your website that contains the pricing for your services. This is great for service providers because you have direct access to a list of potential clients that are already considering working with you. Create an email automation series and turn those potential clients into paying clients.

4. How-to blog posts with downloadable resource

Include content upgrades in your blog post to incentivize readers to join your list. A content upgrade is a resource that adds value and is downloadable in exchange of an email address. This is similar to the freebie, however these don’t have to be your best resource. Take a moment and think: what have you already created that could be useful to your audience? A simple checklist, gift guide, or simple PDF will do.

5. Test your offers

Test different offers, headlines, form placements or incentives and closely follow your analytics to see what WORKS and what doesn’t. Include multiple lead magnets throughout your website to incentivize people to join.
